PLASTIC IS REBORN

FROM PLASTIC

Plastic is a relatively recent material, obtained in 1907 by the Belgian chemist Leo Bekeland and over time it has become an integral part of our daily life. Its use has increased exponentially over the decades: world production has in fact increased from 1.5 million tons in 1950 to 322 million tons in 2015 and is set to double in the next 20 years. The success of plastic can be traced back to its resistance, lightness and durability as well as to its excellent chemical, thermal and electrical properties, intrinsic characteristics that have allowed

this material to acquire an increasingly important role in our economy.

THE MODEL TO FOLLOW

In an era in which environmental protection is an urgent global need, transforming waste into resources becomes a priority: an objective that can be achieved by adopting a circular economy that allows to extend the life cycle of products, reducing waste to a minimum.

Unlike the linear economic model based on the "extract, produce, use, throw" scheme, the desired production and consumption model involves the recycling of materials with the aim of reintroducing them into the economic cycle as a raw material to be used for the production of goods and artifacts.

The recycling of plastic has undoubted advantages in terms of reducing the environmental impact, it is therefore essential to adopt policies in this direction.

Today, compared to the past, we have the means and the knowledge to make conscious choices to protect the environment: promoting sustainable development is a common duty. Through recovery and recycling, millions of tons of plastic can be reused

and thus give it a "second life"

But how to recognize and support products made with recycled plastic? The PSV brand, "Plastic Second Life", is an environmental product certification for materials and products obtained from the valorisation of plastic waste, recovered from separate collection or from industrial waste. Thanks to this certification system it is possible to control the "quality" of recycled plastics and the "traceability" of recycled materials.

This brand falls within the type II product declarations, in accordance with the UNI EN ISO 14021 standard and is promoted by the IPPR, Institute for the Promotion of Recycled Plastics.

There are many types of applications: construction, urban furniture, horticulture, containers for waste collection, packaging, optics, yarns and fabrics, office and commercial furniture, products and furnishings for the home, but also materials and objects intended for contact with food. .

Choosing products with the Plastic Second Life brand means supporting environmentally sustainable solutions.

The commitment made by Ecologistic SpA concretely contributes to reducing the environmental impact: the company not only favors the reuse of waste materials as raw material but also the recycling of materials at the end of their life, all products made of plastic are in fact recyclable and 100% recycled.

After careful planning, the Cleverpallet was born, a patented pallet made from the recovery of plastic bottles no longer used.

The realization of the Cleverpallet not only allows the recovery and recycling of plastic giving it a second life but also avoids deforestation unfortunately useful for the construction of wooden pallets
